I’m Jan Hinson, a Personal Injury attorney in Greenville, South Carolina and Alpharetta, Georgia.
You’ve been injured. Your life has changed. I can help.
Because – I’ve been where you are. In 2009, I was catastrophically injured. I was in the hospital for 19 days, spent two months daily in a hyperbaric oxygen chamber and wore a wound vacuum for 7 months. It was an excruciating and long battle. The legal process that followed was frustrating and seemed to drag on and on. But when the case finally ended, I saw my attorney pen a check to himself for over 100K out of my injury proceeds. I knew something had to change. That wasn’t right.
Perhaps you are not aware – many people aren’t – that the typical fee lawyers charge for handling a personal injury case is one-third, 33 and a third percent of the money from your injury if they settle before filing your lawsuit and 40 percent if they file the complaint that even starts your legal action with the court. AND that percentage comes off the top – before all the other expenses of the case are paid, such as experts who will substantiate your damages, filing fees, court costs, medical expert opinions and court reporters. Those items are paid out of your share before you get to even think about paying your medical costs and the losses that you have sustained. Often you are left with little or nothing, though the at fault party has paid a great deal of money.
After walking in your shoes, I made a change in my practice and began representing severely injured clients in a different way – because I strongly believe that the injured party should be receiving the vast majority of the money that is paid out for their injury. You owe it to yourself to come in for a free consult concerning your injury. I’ll work diligently to have the process go as quickly as it can for you in order to reduce the added stress that I know all too well happens when an injury case drags on and on.
I am in my 21st year of law practice, helping people with life’s biggest challenges. I am uniquely qualified for this field. As a litigator, certified mediator and registered arbitrator, I know the ins and outs of negotiating and seeing to it that my clients’ needs are met. I practiced in Atlanta in all of the major courts for my first 20 years, and now, I am proud to be a South Carolinian with offices in the Upstate. My first college field of study was a medical one, where I was intricately involved with severely injured or ill patients. I then went on to obtain a degree in finance and business, then my doctorate in law. In Georgia, I made new law at the Supreme Court level. The legal field excites me because I can help people more than anything else. That is what I want to do for you and that is what you deserve.
I am sorry for what you have suffered, and from experience, I can tell you that this too shall pass. There are brighter days ahead. Please call or contact me to discuss your situation. While I cannot take every case, I will give you an honest and thorough evaluation.
